These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Rupello mobile application and website (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing or using Rupello, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What Rupello is
Rupello is a personal finance tool that helps you track expenses, income, budgets, bills and net worth. On Android, it can optionally read bank transaction SMS on your device to log transactions automatically. Rupello is an organizational tool only — it does not move money, initiate payments, or connect to your bank accounts.
2. Beta software
Rupello is currently offered as a free beta. Beta software may contain bugs, may change significantly between releases, and features may be added, modified or removed without notice. We may suspend or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time.
3. Not financial advice
All information presented in Rupello — including balances, budgets, insights, categorizations and projections — is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
4. Accuracy of automatically parsed data
Automatic SMS parsing depends on the format of messages sent by banks and payment services, which can change without notice. Parsed amounts, merchants and categories may occasionally be incomplete or incorrect. Your bank's official statements are the authoritative record of your finances; always verify important figures against them. We are not liable for decisions made on the basis of parsed or derived data.
5. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for the security of your device, including its screen lock and the Rupello app lock if you enable it.
- You are responsible for backing up your data (for example, using the app's export feature). Because data is stored only on your device, we cannot recover it if your device is lost, reset or the app is uninstalled.
- You agree to use the Service only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes.
6. License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Rupello on Android devices you own or control, for personal use, subject to these Terms and the rules of the app store from which you obtained it. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, branding, text and graphics, is owned by the Rupello team and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Your data remains yours — these Terms give us no ownership of, or rights over, the financial records stored on your device.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your data — in short, your financial data is processed and stored on your device and is never uploaded to our servers. The app sends only anonymous usage and crash data, which you can switch off in Settings. Optional features that would send further data off your device would be described in the Privacy Policy before they are made available. The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that parsed data will be accurate or complete.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Rupello team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or savings, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim (which, during the free beta, is zero).
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms. Sections 3, 4, 7, 9, 10 and 12 survive termination.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts located in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules in your place of residence.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the current version. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
